Forget about hauling and winterizing your big boat, it's time to focus on the 2022-23 frostbite sailing season. The dates and race docs on the web page have been updated. Our Try a Dyer Day and info session / meet & greet kickoff is scheduled for October 23rd from 12-3 (12-1 boat trials off the dock, 1-3 kickoff). As always, we're looking to continue growing our fleet. Please pass this on to anyone you know who may be interested. I'm also hoping to get high school sailors to join us. If you would like to try sailing one of the Dyer Dhows, show up from 12-1 with a change of clothes (just in case!) and we'll get you on the water. As we've done for several years, first year sailors get free use of the available Club Dyer Dhows on a first-come basis. For old salts, if you need your own boat, talk to Will about chartering or purchasing one of the Club boats. Our biggest issue at the moment is safety boat crew - we need kids at least 16 with their Safe Boating Certificate who can safely operate a powerboat, though we'll settle for some operators who can improve on the job. The job runs from the first Sunday in November through the final Sunday in March from roughly 11 am to 3:45 pm. If you know of anyone, please have them reach out to our Club Manager David Lowe at 203-866-0941 or generalmanager@norwalkyachtclub.com. I think pay is about $15 or so an hour, but don't hold me to it. Noroton YC and Rowayton YC and Roton Point YC members, we need your help networking - otherwise we may all need to serve as RC or safety boat several days this season instead of just one.Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or ideas - Ed's already sent me a note about potentially trying out a new version of Rule 18 for Dave Perry and US Sailing's Rules committee, and we need a better format for the Larry Goodwin Trophy. Will & Mike
