Please forward to your friends (and enemies, we're not picky).

I have a pretty good idea which of you in this pre-season list won't be joining us, but I'll keep trying! I'll drop you folks after today; you know where to find me if you want to do some off-season sailing or stay in the loop. Heck, come on a nice Fall day to give it a try or to help with race committee, no obligation. Frostbiting gives you racing knowledge, gets you out of the house, skills improvement, a weekly social scene with great food and drinks, expanded group of folks to sail with in the summer, discounts on sailing seminars, and frostbite sailing is dirt cheap - the same as reasonable foulie bibs or some Dubarry boots.

Our kickoff event is Sunday Oct 22: 2:30-3:30 Try a Dyer Day for new folks (please try to get there early and not at 3:20) and 4-6 kickoff party at the Club. No food given the new time slot unless you bring some, but there will be drinks. Bring your buddies; we're always trying to grow the fleet.

The website is updated with new docs & dates. You can get the waiver, NOR, and SIs there. We now need to pay for post-race beverages, so we've raised the fee a flat $30 across the board to cover wage and expense inflation plus this new added expense. $415 NYC Club Members, $490 non-Members, and $475 if you want to charter a Club boat. Speaking of which, I'd like to sell some of the (now 8) Club boats.

Drysuits. Stephen Petri found a deal on Gill drysuits for $440 ($650+ elsewhere), maybe they have some in your size.

New sail info (thanks to Alex Johnson). The design is the same as last year, the SLM-3. Retail price this season is $625. John Savage will offer a fleet discounted price of $562.50 if Norwalk orders 5 or more sails at a time. A vision window adds $45. Reach out to John directly with your name and contact info, sail number and color, whether you want a window (not terribly necessary), and whether you have an aluminum or wood mast so he can get the bolt rope correct. Once John knows how many orders there are, delivery will be approx 4 to 5 weeks. jsavagesails@gmail.com

Some boats are starting to stray from the OEM Dyer Dhow. While we all know that the boat that wins the start and gets the first shift will likely win, please grab a tape measure and check your boat's seat and shroud oarlock placement using the attached measurements. As an example, one boat in our fleet has a center seat 3" farther forward than it should be. Mamaroneck FBA uses the front of the mast 21" from the inside of the bow and the max traveler distance is 14" +/- 1/2".
